Additional Authentication Methods
At the moment, the driver supports only authentication with a SHA1 hashed password. As far as I know, this authentication method is also known as mysql_native_password
(see also: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/native-pluggable-authentication.html).
MySQL and MariaDB support more authentication mehtods, for details see https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/authentication-plugins.html and https://mariadb.com/kb/en/authentication-plugins/.
At least, current MySQL default installations (tested with 8.0.30) uses caching_sha2_password
as default authentication method. For this reason, the authentication methods caching_sha2_password
and sha256_password
should be supported as well.
